2 The stat sheet

Why the legs multiply

Unrelated legs Parlay odds = odds of leg 1 × odds of leg 2 × …

Three legs at -110 (1.909 each) multiply to about 6.96: $10 returns $69.58. The price implies a 14.4% chance. If you win each pick 55% of the time, your real chance is 0.55 × 0.55 × 0.55, or 16.6%.

Each leg also carries the sportsbook's margin, and the margins compound. The parlay betting guide works out how much.

Key takeaway

Every leg you add multiplies the payout and the risk.

The turning point

Phases chain like legs

A challenge with several phases works like a parlay: every phase has to pass, and the chances multiply. Prime Sports Funded asks for one step at +35%, with no time limit.

Frequently asked questions

How are parlay odds calculated?

Convert each leg to decimal odds and multiply them. Three legs at -110 (1.909 each) give about 6.96, or +596 in American odds.

What does the implied probability of a parlay mean?

It is 1 ÷ the combined decimal odds: the chance the price assumes, margin included. Your real chance is the product of each leg's chance, if the legs are unrelated.

What happens if one leg pushes?

At most sportsbooks, the leg is dropped and the parlay pays on the remaining legs. Check your sportsbook's rules before you bet.
